My dear fellow MMR Picpans,

The Metro Manila Region stood very tall this most recent Annual National Convention, aside from receiving a Citation for its own programs, it was a witness and active supporter for two of its Chapters who garnered their respective Hall of Fame Awards – The Eastern MM Chapter and the Western MM Chapter, not to mention that the SMMC received its 8th Most Outstanding Chapter Award (Category A) while NMMC also got another citation.

Let us also look at our scorecard:

Combined excess of receipts over disbursements as of June 2007 (unaudited) reached P 3.8 M from the four Chapters, up by 33% from the previous year. Total Membership have grown 40% from, 7,817 to 10,926 from the different chapters .

The region remained steadfast in its social responsibility programs: Tree Planting in La Mesa, Ecopark in Quezon City, Medical Mission in Sampaloc, Manila, Adopt a Child at the Amphiteater in Malabon, Livelihood-Meatprocessing and Adopt a child in the Daughters of Saint Francis de Sales, Las Pinas.

MMR had a joint conference with the Davao Chapter back in October 25-27,2007.

And most recently MMR had the 5th International Conference on cruise, for the first time aboard the Star Cruise Aquarius.

Of course, all of these activities were meant to inspire and enhance services to members and colleagues, and we are looking forward to seeing more and more of you in the forthcoming PICPA activities.
