Newly elected MMR Chair
unfolds his plans and programs during
the MMR day of the Accountancy Week Celebration
last July 21,2008.
“I shall try to
lay down the policies, processes and systems
with the end in view of providing the
cornerstones to achieve an information-driven
system that will serve better the entire
membership in the comforts of your home
and office. All you need to do is link
and download what you need from our website.
Actually, we have a website, we will just
have to make it known and relevant.
Apart from the usual
demands of the position of directing and
monitoring and reporting, the delivery
of new services shall be one of the priorities
of my administration. It is only by improving
the current services and creating new
services and making all of these known
to you will you be able to feel and see
the value of being a PICPA member.
This term will also be
the witness to linkages taking place.
Linkages between PICPA and the different
sectors, PICPA and the accrediting/regulatory
bodies,PICPA MMR and the other regions/chapters,
as well as improvement in internal systems.
The success of this project,
our project, shall require full support
from the board and the entirety of the
PICPA MMR Membership. Let us not rest
on the past achievements.
For the first quarter
of my term, we were able to successfully
celebrate the Accountancy Week. It was
filled with professional development,
fun, sharing of expertise and reaching
out to the future CPAs (the students),
Once, we also flew to
the Negros Occidental Chapter, who MMR
adopted as a small brother chapter.
For the last three months,
we were able to conduct 5 seminars sponsored
by MMR. These covered several topics.
We are all looking forward to the Regional
Conference and we shall be looking forward
to seeing you there. Some more updates
and new discoveries are in store for you.

at Puerto Princesa Palawan.
BTW. Effective October
1.2008, the MMR Council decided to hire
an Executive Director. It was a breathtaking
first quarter, let us enjoy the ride…See
you in more of our activities at the PICPA
MMR”.
MMR gets
a new Executive Director…
For quite a while, the
MMR had been missing the services of the
Executive Director. Just off the MMR Boardroom
last Sept 18, 2008, by a resolution, MMR
is going to hire the services of Ms. Rosario
Ma. Q.Yu, or Ot as she is known to PICPA
and friends as Executive Director effective
October 1.2008.
Ms. Ot Yu shall be bringing
with her a total experience of 28 years
of which , about 14 are in different areas
of Finance, 2.5 of which are into Credit
and Cooperative Management, some 8 years
are IT related experience mainly in project
management, system implementation, systems
analysis, system integration, and training
for customized financial solutions, and
software evaluation for Integrated Financial
Management Systems, and the remaining
6 in External Audit.
Ms. Ot is also past EMMC
President and MMR Treasurer in 2006-2007,
and MMR Secretary last fiscal year. She
is also the incumbent MMR Committee Chair
for Publications. Before then, she has
served EMMC in different roles and posts.
In short, she is not new to our own PICPA
MMR. She is at home here. Let us all welcome,
